Local Veteran to be honored at Yankee Game!

Local Veteran to be honored at Yankee Game!

BRONX, NY: On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, the New York Yankees will honor a local resident as their "Veteran of the Game".

During the 7th Inning Stretch of what promises to be an important AL East Divisional face-off with the Toronto Blue Jays, Pat Hart of Katonah, NY, an Atria at Briarcliff Manor resident, will be honored for his service as a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War.

A draftee, in route to Korea, Hart’s orders were changed and his destination instead became Okinawa. His wife, the late Mary Flynn Hart, joined him there as a newly hired civilian typist in the employ of the Department of the Army. In what makes for a most unusual “war story”, the Harts would fulfill their duty to serve the nation together.

Pat will be accompanied to the game by members of his family, all of whom would like to express their gratitude to the New York Yankees for their continuing support of our veterans!

If you would like to be designated as a “Veteran of the Game” by the New York Yankees (or the Mets), reach out to Veteran of the Game LLC at [email protected].

Per his son, Dan, “he's the very happiest I've seen him since before my Mom passed away. I knew you'd know where to forward the message! Thank you!!”
