Ex-Athlete Speals to Briarcliff Athletes

Inquoris "Inky" Johnson, a former college defensive back, spoke to Briarcliff athletes earlier this month.

With the fall athletic season in progress, Briarcliff’s modified, junior varsity and varsity athletes had the opportunity on Sept. 14 to hear inspiring words from Inquoris “Inky” Johnson, a former college defensive back who now travels as a motivational speaker.

Johnson suffered a career-ending injury just eight games away from being a National Football League draft pick in 2006.

“Briarcliff is fortunate to have welcomed Mr. Johnson to share his encouraging story with the student-athletes at the middle and high school,” said Athletic Director Christos Drosopoulos. “He inspires young people to believe in themselves, that no obstacles are too much to overcome, that they have a choice in every aspect of their lives and that quitting is not an option. If his message influences just one of our students to be the best version of themselves on a consistent basis, then his visit to Briarcliff was a success.”
