Table Tennis Center Hosts Open Featuring National Champion

Five-time Croation National Champion Andrej Gacina will play in the Westchester Table Tennis Center's September 24-25 open.

PLEASANTVILLE, NY - This weekend the Westchester Table Tennis Center is proud to welcome one of the top table tennis players in the world, Croatia's Andrej Gacina.

Gacina is world-ranked #20 by the ITTF. He is five-time national champion of Croatia, a medalist at two European championships, and a three-time Olympian. He'll play in the open event on Sunday, starting at 2 pm -- competing for the grand prize of $1,500.

As usual, the entry fee for the open is $65. But for this month only the fee is reduced to $55 for any player with a USATT rating under 2500, and to $45 for anyone rated under 2400.

Altogether the tournament has 18 events with more than $5,000 in prizes. Cash is awarded in every event. Newcomers are welcome. The full list of events, with the schedule, appears below. Details, with a link to the registration form, appear on our website, www.westchestertabletennis.com.

Spectators are free on Saturday. On Sunday the cost is $10 to watch, or free for a child accompanying a paid adult. A six-tournament spectator pass is available for $40.
