Man Attacked, Struck On Head In Coram Parking Lot: Police

He was taken to an area hospital for treatment, Suffolk police say.

CORAM, NY — A man was taken to a local hospital after he was struck on the head in the parking lot of the shopping center with Home Depot in Coram on Sunday, Suffolk police said.

The man, who is 24 with no last known address, told officers that an unknown man approached him in the parking lot, which is off Middle Country Road, at around 4:34 p.m., and struck him on the head, according to police.

He told officers that his attacker "possibly had a knife" and ran away from the scene, police said. The man was taken to an area hospital for evaluation, according to police.
