Here are the top three stories in Sachem today:

  1. Police are searching for a suspect who stole a truck from 7-Eleven back in October. A 2017 Dodge Ram was stolen around midnight on Oct. 8 from the Route 25 location. The keys were inside of the vehicle and the suspect is pictured in the link. Police are asking anyone with information to call Crimestoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS. (Sachem Patch)
  2. Students at Cayuga Elementary School kicked off 2023 with 'One Word Challenge.' The students were asked to pick one word to lead them throughout the year. They identified a positive word that was important to them and then implemented a plan on how it will guide them throughout the year. (Press Release Desk)
  3. A highway patrol officer helped a 26-year-old woman keep her baby warm after she gave birth on the side of the highway. Police were called to Sunrise Highway near Exit 50 for a woman who delivered a baby in her vehicle. Officer Jesse Wenk helped keep the woman warm while waiting for the Holbrook Fire Department's ambulance to arrive. (Sachem Patch)
