  1. Jake's 58 to get 1,000 new betting terminals. Suffolk OTB will construct a building next door as part of a $200 million expansion within the next two years, which will double the number of machines allowed by law. Gov. Hochul signed off on the expansion and Jake's 58 grosses over $258M annually. (Sachem Patch)
  2. Ronkonkoma apartment building deemed unsafe after flood damage by Town of Brookhaven. Alston Station Square had a pipe burst Tuesday, sending a flood of water into the units, Brookhaven Town Chief Fire Marshal Chris Mehrman said. "This is a situation where the sheetrock will need to be taken down and replaced," he said. "As for mold, that is why the dehumidification efforts are ongoing, to get the moisture out, thus preventing mold growth." (Sachem Patch)
  3. Shooting on Main St. in Port Jefferson leaves two people injured. The shooting took place on the street, near Linden Place, just after 7 p.m., according to police. Both people were taken to area hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and no further details were released. (Patch)
