  1. Pedestrian dies after being struck by two vehicles in Farmingville. Roland Degroff, 51, was hit on North Ocean Ave at Granny Rd. on Sunday evening. He was running east across the roadway when a Mercedes Benz driven by a 41-year-old Mt. Sinai man swerved to avoid him, but couldn't avoid Degroff. He was struck and then hit again by a Hyundai Sonata driven by a 44-year-old Coram man. Degroff was pronounced dead at the hospital and neither driver was injured in the incident. (Sachem Patch)
