  1. A fire broke out at a Farmingville home Friday afternoon. Firefighters were called to a home on Pinedale Avenue around 3:30 p.m. to extinguish the blaze. No other details were immediately released. (Sachem Patch)
  2. A school aid was hailed as a 'hero' for saving a choking student at Duffield Elementary School. Stella Tsimis jumped into action last week to perform the Heimlich maneuver on a choking second-grade student during lunchtime. "I just did what I would hope anyone would do and I'm glad I knew what to do," Tsimis told News 12. (Sachem Patch)
  3. A car crashed into an auto body repair shop in Centereach. Part of Middle Country Road in Centereach was closed due to the crash which occurred around 7:35 a.m. Friday morning. The injuries that were reported were non-life-threatening, police said. There was no structural damage to the building, according to a Brookhaven Town spokesman. (Sachem Patch)
