Carmel Police Report 3 Domestic Violence Arrests

A woman faces a felony charge and two men face misdemeanor charges in unrelated incidents.

CARMEL, NY — Carmel police report three recent incidents of domestic violence.

A Mahopac resident was charged March 26 with fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment after a dispute with his wife. It was alleged he attacked her during an argument and attempted to prevent her from calling the police by forcibly taking her cellphone and throwing it. He was arraigned before Carmel Town Justice Miller, who issued a temporary order of protection. He is due back in the Town of Carmel Justice Court at a later date.

A Carmel man was charged March 31 with third-degree assault after a family dispute became physical. Police said he assaulted his wife after the two were involved in an argument. She sustained minor injuries to her neck. He was apprehended at the scene and transported to CPD headquarters for processing, then arraigned by Carmel Town Justice Miller, who issued a temporary order of protection, and released the man on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance.

A 42-year-old Mahopac woman was charged April 12 with felony assault in the second degree, misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon and misdemeanor menacing in the third degree. Police allege that during a domestic incident, she struck a man in the chest with a collapsible metal baton, causing pain and injury. She was subsequently taken into custody and transported to CPD headquarters for processing. Arraigned by Carmel Town Justice Jacobellis, who issued a temporary order of protection, she was released on her own recognizance pending a future court appearance.
