Talkin’ Tacos to Open First Washington Heights Location July 19

"Less Talkin-More Tacos" Mexican Concept to Host Grand Opening Event with Free Tacos for the First 100 Guests

Talkin’ Tacos, a food truck turned fast-casual Mexican eatery based in South Florida serving up scratch-made, innovative Mexican dishes, will open their first New York location in Washington Heights at 4179 Broadway on Friday, July 19. To celebrate, the restaurant will host a grand opening celebration starting at 6p.m. on opening day, with the first 100 guests in line receiving a free order of the concept’s signature Birria Tacos. Guests can enjoy live music and entertainment throughout the evening including photo opportunities with an LED Robot.

The new 2,100 sq. foot restaurant will feature a patio that seats 18 people and indoor seating for 30. Their chef-driven menu will feature an array of guest-favorites such as Birria Tacos, Birria Ramen, Southwest Chicken Tacos, Birria Pizza and Street Corn in a Cup. A hallmark of the menu is their beef birria which is braised each day for 12 hours resulting in the most tender and savory meat. Guests can also indulge in desserts like loaded Churros, Tres Leches Cake and Tajin & Chamoy gummies or sip on homemade specialty beverages such as lemonades, horchatas and mangonadas.

“It doesn’t get more iconic than New York,” said Mohammad Farraj, Talkin’ Tacos co-founder and chief marketing officer. “There’s a huge void for a unique Mexican restaurant that not only infuses a Miami vibe into the experience, but also quick service without compromising quality. There’s nothing like us in the area and we can’t wait to share our love for tacos with this incredible city!”

The restaurant’s radiant atmosphere features hand painted murals and neon signs providing an upbeat yet laid back vibe. Technology features include self-serve kiosks where guests can place their orders efficiently, eliminating the cashier position and allowing faster speed-of-service.

Talkin' Tacos, which stormed onto the scene in 2020, was born from the fiery passion for authentic flavors. It began its journey as a humble food truck in the vibrant streets of Miami. Since then, they've been spicing up taste buds across Florida and the southeast. The brand has grown tremendously in only four years, with 10 locations set to open this year and no signs of slowing down. They recently opened in North Miami and Jacksonville and will be opening four more in South Florida as well as two in the Orlando-area and Tampa. They’ll also expand into new states including Concord, NC, Washington DC and Dallas, TX.
