3 Weeks After Wedding, Lansdale Woman With Cancer Passes Away

Just a few short weeks after her dream wedding, Lansdale's Taylor Goettner, 26, has passed away.

LANSDALE, PA — An inspirational 26-year-old Lansdale woman with cancer has passed away, just a few short weeks after her wedding.

Taylor Goettner battled a rare form of aggressive ovarian cancer, known as Sertoli-Leydig Cell Tumor. Over the decade-plus that she fought the disease, she inspired everyone who came into contact with her, according to friends and family.

"If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting Taylor, you know what an absolute inspiration she is to every life she's touched," wrote her friend, Stephanie Erik. "She is a kind, caring, giving person who shines a light over everyone she meets with a beautiful smile on her face no matter what she is facing in life."

Unfortunately, Taylor — a graduate of North Penn High School and Montgomery County Community College — was fighting a particularly nasty form of cancer. Her condition worsened.

Spurred on by their love for such a bright person, the community banded together to raise the funds neccessary for a "dream wedding." Nearly $20,000 was raised in a very short period of time. Those close to her knew that she might not have much time.

The plan worked. Taylor continued to fight. The wedding was planned. And on Nov. 18, she was married to her love, Tyler. The photo above is from their wedding.

Two short weeks later, on Saturday, Dec. 1, Taylor died. Friends said that her mother, sister, and husband were all with her as she passed.

Her friends said it best: "She is brave when she thinks she isn't. She is strong when she feels weak. She. Is. AMAZING. She is our HERO."

A memorial service was held on Wednesday. At Taylor's request, no one wore black at her funeral. Only bright colors.
