LANGHORNE, PA —Justin Mohn. Andre Gordon Jr. The man who stabbed his ex-girlfriend in Lower Makefield Township.

These were some of the main domestic violence-related crimes over the past year in Bucks County. They were also just a few of the crimes that are numerous in the county each year.

“I have been a prosecutor in Bucks County for almost 25 years,” District Attorney Jennifer Schorn said at the recent Nova Bucks Candlelight Tribute for Victims of Crime. “I see people do the unimaginable to others. I have seen violent crimes unfold in our community, gun violence, exploitation of our seniors, and abuse and exploitation of our most vulnerable, our children and I have seen human life taken.”

Stabbing Victim, Lower Bucks Suspect Had 2-Month Relationship: DA

NOVA Bucks County recently held a Candlelight Tribute for Victims of Crime with Schorn providing the opening remarks.

“Sadly, it is what one should expect to see in this profession," she said. "However, there is something else I see each day that inspires me and fuels me to continue to be committed to fighting for justice. That is witnessing first-hand the strength and courage that crime victims and their families display. It is the single most rewarding aspect of this job. We are not just witnessing a strong person doing something that takes courage, rather we see someone who someone else tried to break, show strength and courage beyond measure. We see these broken individuals face and confront the person who caused their pain and devastation.”

“NOVA choosing the theme of light to honor and pay tribute to victims of crime is apropos because when someone is broken, light still shines through the cracks and those breaks can heal. To those who work in victim services, you have my respect and gratitude. To victims of crime, you are my inspiration. Thank you,” Schorn said.
