Bucks Co. Shelters To Open Until Wednesday For Freezing Temps

A Code Blue declaration was issued on Monday in response to extreme cold conditions. Shelters around Bucks County will open at 8:30 p.m.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — A Code Blue declaration has been issued for Bucks County until Wednesday, in response to extreme cold conditions forecasted in our area.

Shelters in Upper, Central, and Lower Bucks are set to open at 8:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.

The following shelters have been activated:

  • Upper Bucks: Quakertown Masonic Lodge, 501 W. Broad St, Quakertown 18951
  • Central Bucks: Doylestown Presbyterian Church, 127 E. Court Street, Doylestown 18901
  • Lower Bucks: Calvary Baptist Church, 250 Green Lane, Bristol 19007

The county issues a “Code Blue” declaration when temperatures are forecast to drop below 20 degrees for two or more consecutive days. The declaration may be called amid higher temperatures, as consideration is also given to wind chill, precipitation and other circumstances.
