CR North Seniors Parade Through Newtown To Celebrate Graduation

In a tradition that began during COVID, members of the Council Rock North senior class rode through town in the lead-up to graduation day.

NEWTOWN, PA — Parents, friends, business owners, and shoppers applauded and cheered wildly along a crowded State Street Friday morning as members of the Council Rock High School North Class of 2024 paraded through town.

In a tradition that began during COVID, members of the senior class jumped in their cars and rode through Newtown in the lead-up to graduation day on Tuesday, June 11 at Walt Snyder Stadium.

Their cars and trucks were decorated with their names along with posters and flags bearing the names of their future colleges and universities.

This year, 375 seniors will graduate from North with 89.8 percent furthering their education at two- and four-year colleges and universities, 8.9 percent entering the workforce and 1.3 percent joining the military either ROTC, appointment, or enlistment.

Leading this year's senior class are Sonia Sahu, president; Charlie Rambo, vice president; Lillian Tetreault, treasurer; Kelly Lao, secretary; Elaine Wong, public relations; and Nathan C. Scott, assistant principal to the Class of 2024.

This year's senior class has been awarded an estimated $4.1 million in scholarships. Tuesday's graduation speakers are Taylor and Alexis Fischer, Samantha Herpel and Sonia Sahu, president of the Class of 2024.
