WASHINGTON CROSSING, PA — From now through Jan. 17, comedy fans and pet lovers can make donations to the Crossings Animal Society in the name of Betty White, to honor her memory and what would have been her 100th birthday.

Donations to the local animal shelter as part of the "Betty White Challenge" will pay for veterinary expenses for pets in need of adoption and pay homage to the actress' animal advocacy.

According to Today, Betty White's enthusiasm for animal rights began with being raised by "genuine animal nuts" and involved personally supporting numerous animal-related nonprofits through donations, volunteering, fundraising, and more.
