Electronic Waste Recycling Event For Newtown Residents Is May 5

Do you have electronics you need to get rid of? An e-waste recycling event for Newtown residents is being held May 5.

Do you have electronics you need to recycle? An e-waste recycling event for Newtown residents is scheduled for May 5.

The e-waste recycling event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at William Penn Middle School in Yardley. It is being organized by environmental commissions from four area townships. In addition to the Newtown Township EAC, the event is organized by the Lower Makefield EAC, the Upper Makefield EAC and the Middletown Township EAC.

Most common electronic items will be accepted, including computer monitors, PC systems, stereos, cellphones, televisions, laptops, printers, fax machines, copiers, cameras and LCD/LED/plasma televisions.

Televisions and monitors will have a $25 charge per item to recycle. This charge is cash only. All other items are free to recycle.

The following items will not be accepted: household batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, refrigerators, and appliances.
