NEWTOWN, PA — Newtown is under a Flash Flood Warning through 12:30 p.m. after heavy storms ripped through the area Thursday morning, dropping up to three inches of rain.

The storms were heaviest in the Buckingham and Doylestown area, forecasters say. Newtown is also in the warning area: Flooding of small creeks and streams as well as streets is possible, the National Weather Service said.

"Multiple roads have been reported as flooded and closed by local emergency management. Up to three inches of rain have already fallen based on radar and gauge estimates," the National Weather Service said in its Flash Flood Warning. "Flash flooding is already occurring and expected to continue."
