Founder Of Wrightstown's Hortulus Farm To Speak At Upcoming Event

A "Great American Gardener" and the founder of the famous Hortulus Farm in Wrightstown​ will speak Oct. 1 in Doylestown.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Renny Reynolds, once named a "Great American Gardener" by the American Horticulture Society and the founder of the famous Hortulus Farm in Wrightstown Township, will speak Oct. 1 in Doylestown.

The presentation, “Listening to the Land," will kick off Bucks Beautiful’s Fall Lecture Series. During the event, Reynolds will share the concepts and inspiration behind the extensive gardens at Hortulus Farm.

The event will be held at the Henry Schmieder Arboretum at Delaware Valley University starting at 7 p.m.

Reynolds is the founder of Renny & Reed in New York City and is regarded as one of the nation's most renowned entertaining, gardening and lifestyle experts. He received the American Horticultural Society’s highest honor, the “Great American Gardener” Award, in 2008.

His 100-acre 18th century farmstead features twenty-four separate gardens on 30 of its acres. In spring, the lawns and woodlands are ablaze with over 200,000 daffodils, narcissus, bluebells, native dogwoods and Delaware Valley white azaleas.

Reynolds' garden designs have been featured in major magazines including Architectural Digest, W, House & Garden, House Beautiful, New York Magazine, Manhattan, Inc., Horticulture Magazine, Town & Country and Garden Design.

His clients have included Presidents Ford, Nixon, Reagan and Clinton, with events in the White House, as well as for the country’s most prestigious corporations and non-profit institutions.

The talk is co-sponsored by Delaware Valley University and Feeney’s Wholesale Nursery. Additional Fall Lecture Series will be held on November 5th and December 3rd.

The arboretum is in DelVal's Life Sciences Building at 700 E. Butler Avenue, Doylestown.
