BUCKS COUNTY, PA —Round two is on its way.

After thunderstorms hit the region late Monday with heavy rain, gusty winds, and vivid lightning, more storms are on the way, the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, New Jersey said.

A flood watch remains in effect for Bucks County until Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Between 1 and 3 inches of additional rainfall is expected in parts of the state Tuesday, with showers and thunderstorms slated to develop in the afternoon and evening. Isolated damaging winds, hail, and flash flooding are all possible, the weather service said.

On Monday, the storms caused some downed trees in the area, along with sporadic power outages.

  • Newtown, 2.4 inches
  • Doylestown, 1.60 inches
  • Pipersville, 1.16 inches
  • Hilltown, .90 inches
  • Perkasie, .94 inches

Tuesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 82. South wind around 10 mph. The chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tuesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 a.m., then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5 a.m. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low of around 63. Southwest wind around 5 mph. The chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Wednesday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7 a.m., then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 81. West wind 5 to 10 The chancehance of precipitation is 20 percent.
Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 61. West wind around 5 mph.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.
