Daniel was an avid video gamer who helplessly tried to teach his wife how to play all the games he loved. He only succeeded with a few, but the two of them played together often. Recently, he and his wife had become avid bakers, and each weekend, they tried a new recipe from their beloved show, The Great British Bake Off, as well as a few more that required just a bit of chemistry to get right.

Daniel was known as the “Cat Whisperer” to many who knew him. Not only was his home full of cats growing up and then again when he and Carrie bought their home, but strays came up to him out of nowhere just for love. Daniel never let a cat go without a pet or two. He was also loved by his sister-in-law’s dog, Brody, who didn’t quite understand that a Golden Retriever was not a lap dog. Daniel did not care that the dog almost weighed as much as he did and bonded with Brody as tightly as he had with his cats. Daniel and Carrie’s remaining cats, Maxie, Cane, Bingo, and Sundae are considered their children, and they will miss him fiercely.

Daniel was also known as “Dr. Hubby” to Carrie’s readers and spent countless hours helping her with her career. He was the cornerstone of her team and inspiration. In addition to his loving wife, and his parents, Daniel is survived by his brother, Tim Silverstein, sister-in-law, Carolina, and his niece and nephew, Mia Elizabeth and Eric William.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Daniel’s Memorial Gathering on Thursday, October 5, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. until the start of the Time of Remembrance—1:30 pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954.

Interment will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to www.PDSA.org in Daniel’s honor.
