NEWTOWN, PA — How fast could you run with half a dozen donuts in your belly?

A new organized race by a group known as runBUCKS looks to answer that very question by combining America's love for donuts with its passionate interest for competitive sports.

The group's DONUT5000 race will take place at the Council Rock High School North track on Friday, June 18, at 5:40 p.m.

The 3.1-mile track race combines speed eating and running, so if you love donuts and the possibility of your competitor vomiting on the track beside you, then this might be the event for you.

The race will begin at the 5000 meter mark. Racers will then run 200 meters and consume their first glazed Dunkin' Donuts, followed by a full lap around the track and another donut. The race will continue in this sequence until the runner has eaten one dozen donuts and ran a total of 12.5 laps around the track.
