NEWTOWN, PA — The historic Newtown Theatre will present “Philly Nelson: A Tribute to Willie Nelson” on Sunday, February 18 at 3 p.m.

Philly Nelson isn’t a “tribute act” per se. Like the theatre’s annual John Prine concert, Philly Nelson is a jam band made up of local musicians who share a common love for the music of an American musical icon. Concertgoers can expect improvisation, spontaneity, and a unique interpretation of the vast catalog of Willie Nelson’s songs, both written and recorded.

Like the Prine tribute, Philly Nelson’s Newtown show will feature a house band and a host of special guests soon to be announced.
