Newtown Township Declares Snow Emergency In Advance Of Storm

Under a snow emergency, parking is prohibited on all township streets to allow for snow plowing operations to take place.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Newtown Township has declared a snow emergency effective at 6 a.m. on Friday morning, January 19, and continuing through midnight on Saturday, January 20.

Under a snow emergency, parking is prohibited on any road or street in the township following the accumulation of one inch or more of ice and snow. The parking ban continues until the full width of the cartway has been plowed.

Depending upon conditions, the snow emergency may be extended.

"Please do not park your vehicles on roads so that the Newtown Township Department of Public Works can safely and efficiently clear the snow," said the township.
