'Restaurant of the future' opens in Wrightstown, Newtown deli plans Solar Eclipse Viewing Party, and a slice of Philly comes to Bucks.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Wrightstown made Bucks County business headlines during the past week, first with a partnership that has brought a slice of Philadelphia to Bucks County and then with the opening of the "restaurant of the future."

Angelo Pizza, owner of The Angelo Pizza at 229 Market Street in Philadelphia, announced a partnership with Andrew Abruzzese, proprietor of the historic Pineville Tavern, to bring his pedigree pizza to Bucks County. As of March 28, Angelo’s mouthwatering pies are available in the takeout store of the tavern, located at 1098 Durham Road in Pineville.

A few days later and just down Durham Road at the township's five-points intersection, Dunkin' opened its newest "next generation" restaurant touting a "fresh, friendly, vibrant, and engaging environment." The chain is known for its donuts and its coffee.

Looking ahead to Monday's celestial event, a Newtown-based deli is inviting customers to share the experience as it hosts a Solar Eclipse Watch Party on Monday, April 8 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Borscht Belt on South Eagle Road in the Village at Newtown South (near the Newtown Farmer's Market) will be marking the heavenly event with eclipse-themed music, giveaways, store specials and Borscht Belt-branded eclipse viewing glasses. The event is free with outdoor seating available.

Meanwhile Wegmans continues to make news in Bucks County, this time for being named one of the best places to work in the nation. The supermarket will celebrate the news by giving away cupcakes and clementines on Saturday at its locations in Lower Makefield and Warrington townships.

Angelo Pizza Brings A Slice Of Philly To Bucks County's Pineville Tavern

The Pineville Tavern, in partnership with The Angelo Pizza on Market Street in Philadelphia, has brought Angelo's pedigree pizza to Bucks County. The majority of the pizzas offered in Angelo Pizza’s Old City location are now available at The Pineville, including: The Paulie - thin sliced beef, pork, and veal meatballs, topped with fresh mozzarella; The St. Antney’s – Italian sausage, roasted red peppers, and sweet Vidalia onions; and The Aunt Rose – mortadella and fresh mozzarella finished with a pesto drizzle.

Dunkin' Unveils 'Next-Generation Restaurant' With Wrightstown Opening

The new Dunkin' that opened at 811 Durham Road in Wrightstown on March 29 is the chain's newest "next-generation restaurant," offering a first-hand look at Dunkin's store of the future."The new Next Gen restaurant features a modern design that provides a fresh, friendly, vibrant, and engaging environment," says Dunkin'. "Complete with a new, warm interior color palette, the restaurant also offers atmospheric lighting, a convenient drive-thru, complimentary Wi-Fi, and an innovative tap system."

Eclipse Viewing Party At The Borscht Belt In Newtown

To celebrate Monday's partial eclipse of the sun, the Borscht Belt is hosting a community viewing
party from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Village at Newtown South. The public is invited to stop by the deli on South Eagle Road to experience the celestial event on what is expected to be a pleasant, sunny day with temperatures in the mid-60s. Throughout the "Great North American Eclipse," the deli is planning special eclipse-themed music - think "Here Comes the Sun," "Total Eclipse of the Heart," and "Bad Moon Rising" - along with giveaways, store specials, and Borscht Belt-branded eclipse viewing glasses.

Wegmans Bucks Supermarkets One Of Best Places To Work In Nation

Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. —which has two locations in Bucks County —has been named as one of the best companies to work for in 2024. Great Place To Work and Fortune magazine recognized Wegmans as one of the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For® in 2024, marking the 27th time the company has made the list, company officials said. This year, Wegmans is ranked in 6th place among the best companies to work for in the nation. Customers and employees can celebrate the honor at 11 a.m. Saturday when mini cupcakes will be served at every Wegmans store. Customers who prefer a healthy option will get Clementine tangerines instead.

Spring Job Fair Promises 100s Of Jobs In Bucks

More than a dozen employers so far have signed on for RecruitmentQueen’s Bucks County Spring Job Fair, which has changed locations after being held in the Neshaminy Mall in Bensalem Township. The spring jobs fair will be held on April 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Spring Mill Manor in Northampton Township. (Read this Patch story for more details.)

BCCC to Host Community Job Fair on April 9

The Career Services department at Bucks County Community College (BCCC) invites job-seeking members of the community to a free Community Job Fair on Tuesday, April 9 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event will be held in the Linksz Pavilion on the Newtown Campus located at 275 Swamp Road, Newtown 18940. During the job fair, students, alumni and community members will be able to speak with more than 50 local organizations from Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties who are actively hiring. Attendees are encouraged to dress professionally, bring copies of their resume, and be prepared to potentially engage in an on-the-spot interview.
