EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA — Fall won't even let summer get out the door before it makes its presence known.

The last few days of summer in Pennsylvania have been unseasonably cool, with some cities experiencing record low temperatures. The first day of fall is Tuesday.

Two eastern Pennsylvania cities reported record lows Monday. Allentown recorded a low temperature of 33 degrees Monday morning, breaking old record of 34 degrees set in 1956.

Reading was 38 degrees Monday morning, tying a record set in 1956.

Even during the daytime, it's been in the 60s across the Philadelphia region. That's more like the weather in late October than September, forecasters with the National Weather Service said.

Frost advisories were issued Sunday night in Lehigh and Northampton counties, as well as counties to the north.

At the same time, the sun is rising later and setting earlier.

"It's all downhill from here," the Weather Service tweeted.

The overnight low Tuesday is expected to be in the low 40s across the Philadelphia region, forecasters say. But things are expected to warm up a bit, with highs in the 80s coming later in the week.

Skies will be clear, with no rain in the current forecast.
