The Stanley Cup Makes Stop In Bucks Co.

The Stanley Cup made a stop in Bucks County Thursday. Here's why:

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Stanley Cup made a stop in Bucks County Thursday.

St. Louis Blues coach Craig Berube, formerly of the Philadelphia Flyers, brought the Stanley Cup to the area as part of a fundraising effort for two cancer causes.

The first stop for Berube was Triumph Brewery in New Hope, where the festivities began in the morning with a procession on South Main Street. Then fans then headed to the brewery, where they could take photos with the Cup.

The event also included a silent auction.

All proceeds from photo donations and silent auction during the Triumph event benefitted Couture For A Cure, an organization that raises awareness and funds for the fight against breast cancer.

The cup was on display at Triumph through 2 p.m., before Berube headed to the Lookaway Golf Club on Upper Mountain Road for a second event to benefit pediatric cancer.

The Stanley Cup arrived at Lookaway Golf Club at approximately 3 p.m., where Berube, a Lookaway member, kicked off the event on the 18th green. A private reception followed and included Berube’s family and friends, his Lookaway golf partners, and former Philadelphia Flyers players. Collectible items from Berube’s playing days with the Flyers were raffled to the party guests, including an autographed golf bag.

"I've been a member of Lookaway for a long time now, made some good friends here who I enjoy playing golf with. They have followed the Blues and my career through the years and I wanted to bring it back to share it with them and club," Berube said.

Proceeds generated from the event benefitted the Matthew Renk Foundation, a Foundation established in the memory of Lookaway’s Grounds Superintendent’s son who passed away nine years ago from Pediatric Brain Cancer.
