Police Probing Apparent Pittsburgh-Area Murder-Suicide

Police are investigating what appears to be a murder-suicide that occurred Sunday evening at a suburban Pittsburgh residence.

MARSHALL TOWNSHIP, PA — Allegheny County police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide that occurred Sunday night.

County 911 was alerted to the incident in the 600 block of Spang Road at 9:06 p.m. North Regional Police found an 80-year-old woman and 81-year-old man dead from gunshot wounds.

Investigators preliminarily have determined that the man shot the woman to death before calling 911 and turning the gun on himself.

The pair who died have yet to be identified.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
