South Hills Village: New Fitness Center Opening

UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA - The Pittsburgh’s fourth Orangetheory Fitness will open later this year at South Hills Village, mall owner Simon Property Group announced Tuesday.

The fitness center focuses one heart-rate monitored, high-intensity workouts scientifically designed to keep heart rates in a target zone that spikes metabolism and boosts energy. According to the center’s website, its members burn an estimated 500 to 1,000 calories in 60 minutes and keep burning calories for as long as 36 hours after a workout.

Orangetheory is slated to open in the mall toward the end of the year.

Founded in 2009, Orangetheory says it’s the world’s fastest-growing fitness franchise. The company has 875 studios across the country and 999 worldwide.

The center’s other Pittsburgh-area locations are in East Liberty, Wexford and Robinson.
