7 Arrested After Massive Fight At Block Island Ferry Dock: Police

NARRAGANSETT, RI — Seven people were arrested in connection with a massive fight Saturday at the dock of the Block Island Ferry, according to police.

Officers responded around 8:15 p.m. to the 300 block of Great Island Road for a report of up to 30 people fighting, police said. As officers tried to make arrests, multiple people interfered and were told to stand back or be arrested themselves for obstructing, according to police.

Seven people were arrested and two people were taken to hospitals for injuries suffered during the fight, police said.

The following people were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, according to police:

  • Maneul Pina, 42, of Brockton, also charged with felony assault, resisting arrest and obstructing;
  • Elsa Lopes, 31, of Brockton, also charged with simple assault, resisting arrest and obstructing;
  • Henry Lopes Jr., 32, of Providence;
  • Victor Manuel Gomes Depina, 39, of Brockton, also charged with obstructing;
  • Michael Gomes Lopes, 36, of Brockton, also charged with resisting arrest;
  • A 16-year-old, also charged with simple assault.

Additionally, Gilda Antunes, 28, of Brockton, was charged with obstructing.

All seven are expected to be arraigned Monday, police said.
