SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — South Kingstown police have issued a warning to residents about a recent report of a home improvement scam.

Police said they learned there are scammers in the area targeting homeowners by offering to do home improvement work at reduced rates.

"If you need work done, do your research," South Kingstown police said in a Facebook post. "Visit the RI Contractor's Registration and Licensing Board for helpful tips. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."
