Lafayette Band Free Summer Concert Series Begins July 3

Independence Day show with fireworks at Town Beach will be followed by five more weekly concerts

The Lafayette Band of North Kingstown will open its 2021 Summer Concert Series on Saturday, July 3, at the town's Independence Day celebration. The concert at the N.K. Town Beach will begin at 7 p.m., followed by fireworks. Director Bethany Clarke Bromley will lead a program of patriotic music, classics and popular themes from TV, cinema and theater. Admission is free. Audience members should bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating.

-Sat., July 3 (rain date July 5) at 7 p.m., Independence Day Concert, Lafayette Bandstand, 10 Beach St. North Kingstown
-Wed., July 7 at 7 p.m., concert followed by Ice Cream Social, Saint John the Divine Episcopal Church, 115 Willett Rd., Saunderstown
-Wed., July 14 at 7 p.m., Lafayette Bandstand
-Wed., July 21 at 7 p.m., Lafayette Bandstand
-Wed., July 28 at 7 p.m., Lafayette Bandstand
-Wed., August 4 at 6:30 p.m., North Kingstown Free Library, 100 Boone St. North Kingstown

There will be no rain dates except for July 5.

The Lafayette Band is a nonprofit community concert band with a mission to strengthen North Kingstown and surrounding communities through music. Founded more than 135 years ago, it is one of the oldest bands in Rhode Island. Though based in North Kingstown, the band's members reside in many communities in Southeast New England.
