NK Celebrates America with Lafayette Band Concert, Fireworks July 3

The band will play a wide array of patriotic tunes, followed at 9 p.m. by North Kingstown's traditional fireworks display.

The Lafayette Band of North Kingstown will present its free annual Independence Day concert at 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, at the North Kingstown Town Beach, 15 Beach St., Wickford. The concert of patriotic and popular music will feature guest vocalist Richard Johnson. The town's traditional fireworks display will follow at 9 p.m.

Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. In case of rain, the concert and fireworks would be postponed to Tuesday, July 5.

The Lafayette Band is a nonprofit community concert band with a mission to strengthen North Kingstown and surrounding communities through music. Founded 140 years ago, it is one of the oldest bands in Rhode Island. Though based in North Kingstown, the band’s members reside in many communities in Southeast New England.
