North Kingstown Girl Who Went Missing Found Safe

Police said Mia, 12, is in good health and has been reunited with her mother.

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — A girl who went missing in North Kingstown Wednesday afternoon has been found safe.

Police said Mia, 12, is in good health and has been reunited with her mother.

"The police department would like to thank the public for their tips which led to the safe return of Mia," Police Capt. John Urban said in a statement.

Mia was last seen leaving her home on Iron Horse Terrace around 3:30 p.m., Wednesday. Shortly after leaving home, police said Mia's bicycle was found in the 900 block of Stony Lane.

Police said around 4:45 p.m., a witness saw a person matching Mia’s description walking in the area of Devil's Foot Road at School Street. There was a large police presence in the area Wednesday night.
