Fisher-Price Recalls Donald, Daisy Duck; Detached Heads Can Choke Kids

Toy giant Fisher-Price recalled over 200,000 Donald Duck and Daisy Duck figures because their heads can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Fisher-Price recalled plastic Donald Duck and Daisy Duck figures sold in its Little People Mickey and Friends figure pack, the U.S. Product Safety Commission said Thursday.

The company received three reports of the heads detaching from the toys, including one in which a detached head was in a young child's mouth, the agency said.

The toys were sold at Walmart, Kohls, Meijer, HEB, Kroger and Target stores nationwide, and online on at Amazon.com, Walmart.com and Target.com and other various eCommerce sites.

Nestlé Mugs Sold In Starbucks Gift Sets Recalled After 'Severe' Burns

Over 400,000 Nestlé mugs sold nationwide in Starbucks-branded holiday gift sets were recalled over burn and laceration hazards, federal regulators said Thursday.

The recall involves four gift sets containing a ceramic mug with a metallic coating bearing Starbucks branding, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said. They were sold in 11-ounce and 16-ounce sizes over the holiday season: Starbucks Holiday Gift Set with 2 Mugs, Starbucks Classic Hot Cocoa and Mug, Starbucks Peppermint and Classic Hot Cocoas and Mug, and Starbucks Holiday Blend Coffee and Mug.

The metallic mugs were sold nationwide online and in-store at Target and Walmart, and through Nexcom (military retail outlets) from November through January, the safety commission said.

Candy Sold Nationwide Recalled After Child Chokes, Needs Surgery: Feds

Twenty Four Six Foods recalled about 290,000 Happiness USA Liquid Rolling Candy products that federal regulators said could choke and kill children.

This recall involves all flavors of Happiness USA liquid rolling candy, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.

The candy’s rolling ball can dislodge into a child’s mouth, posing a choking hazard and risk of death.

Twenty Four Six Foods received one report of the rolling ball dislodging, resulting in a 7-year-old choking in New Jersey in July 2023. The child underwent emergency surgery to remove the rolling ball from his throat, regulators said.

The products were sold at Kosher market stores nationwide from January 2018 through July 2023.

Culture Kings recalled over 4,000 Sneaker Basel Double Magnetic Levitation Display products this week in which magnets can forcefully collide, break, splinter and emit sparks, posing a laceration hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.

This recall involves two models of Culture Kings’ displays used to showcase floating pairs of sneakers.

The firm received a report in the U.S. where the magnets collided and shattered. No one was hurt in that incident.

The firm also received seven reports of incidents in Australia where the magnets collided and shattered during use, leaving four people with minor injuries.

Crown Boiler Recalls Home Heating Boilers Due to Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Hazard

Crown Boiler recalled over 1,000 gas-fired hot water boilers because a blocked vent switch can fail to shut down the burners if the boilers are installed at altitudes above 2,000 feet, causing the boiler to emit dangerous levels of carbon monoxide into the building.

Crown Aruba IV (AWR Series) boilers were recalled that were sold nationwide, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.

The boilers were sold by heating and plumbing contractors and wholesale distributors nationwide from July 2012 through December 2023.

More than 13,000 crossbows sold by RavinCrossbows were recalled this week after federal regulators said they can discharge unexpectedly when not fully cocked, posing an injury hazard.

FSIS Issues Public Health Alert For Ineligible Frozen Siluriformes Products Imported FromChina

Frozen Siluriformes products were illegally imported to the United States from China and were recalled this week, federal regulators said Thursday.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service issued a public health alert, saying the products were not certified for export to the U.S. by the Chinese government. They do not identify a certified establishment number on their packaging, and they were not given to U.S. inspectors for import reinspection.

"These factors make the products ineligible to import into the U.S. and unfit for human consumption," the agency said. Federal inspectors are investigating how the products entered the U.S.

The items were sold in 12-ounce (340 g) plastic packages containing “FROZEN STRIPED PANGASIUS MAWS.”

They were believed to have been shipped to retail and wholesale locations in New York, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania.
