Ashburn Fatal Shooting Suspect Arrested: Sheriff's Office

The suspect in a shooting that killed one person at an Ashburn apartment complex turned himself in to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

ASHBURN, VA — The suspect in the Feb. 14 fatal shooting of a Sterling man at an Ashburn apartment complex has turned himself in, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Rashaun D. Owens turned himself in at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. He faces charges of second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and attempted robbery with a firearm.

The shooting happened the night of Feb. 14 at the Ashburn Meadows apartment complex in the 44400 block of Keller Square. Sheriff's deputies had responded to 911 calls about a gunshot and an unresponsive person. The victim was found with a gunshot wound in the parking lot and was pronounced dead.

The victim was identified as Michai Dandridge-Carter, 19, of Sterling.
