ASHBURN, VA — After the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors rejected the Tillett's View residential proposal, a downsized development proposal will be considered.

The proposed development is located east of Belmont Ridge Road and north of Waxpool Road in the Waxpool neighborhood of Ashburn. The original proposal called for up to 397 residential units on nearly 50 acres, including 103 single-family homes, 184 townhouses and 110 multifamily stacked units. On March 13, the Board of Supervisors voted against rezoning for the development, as some members had concerns about compatibility with surrounding residential development and traffic impacts.

The applicant, Pulte Home Company, told board members it plans to reduce the proposal by 40 homes. The reduction of 40 units would be due to the applicant replacing "two-over-twos" multifamily units with townhouses.

"I heard the concerns from the surrounding community regarding this application," said Broad Run District Supervisor Sylvia Glass in a statement. "After the Board’s vote to deny, the applicant reached out and offered to improve the application by reducing the density of the development by 40 units to a total of 357 units on the 50 acres, which addresses some of our concerns and prompted the Board’s willingness to reconsider the application."

The application with proffers is being finalized before it goes to the Board of Supervisors for a public hearing on May 15. The board voted to reconsider the development days after rejecting the original application.
