VIRGINIA — Mother's Day is upon us, and there will be plenty to do to this weekend around Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C.

Whether you want to treat Mom to a special event after brunch or simply want to unwind this weekend, the region provides a variety of big festivals and smaller community gatherings.

Some of the major events are EU Embassies’ Open House, Beer Bourbon & BBQ Festival, LoCo Food Truck Festival, Del Ray House & Garden Tour, Streetfest at Reston Town Center, The Heritage India Festival, Art in the Burg, Latin Restaurant Weeks DMV, National Museum of Asian Art May Arts and Culture Festival and Town of Dumfries 275th Anniversary Mayor's Gala.
