Missing Man With Dementia In Sterling Prompts Large Police Presence

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is seeking a missing man with dementia last seen Thursday afternoon.

STERLING, VA — The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is continuing to search for a missing man with dementia from Sterling.

Edward Lane, 78, was last seen around 3 p.m. Thursday in the 19000 block of Youngs Cliff Road in Sterling. Authories say Lane has difficulty walking and may have wandered into a wooded area. As of Friday morning, there was still a large police presence in the 19000 block of Youngs Cliff Road.

As of 12:55 p.m. Friday, the sheriff's office said it is continuing the search for Lane and asked the public to be on the lookout.

Lane was last seen wearing khaki cargo shorts, a white shirt, and brown moccasin shoes. The sheriff's office asks neighbors in the area to check their security/Ring cameras or outbuildings on their properties.
