Capitals Team Up With Fredericksburg To Show Hockey Spirit

A portion of the proceeds from Caps tickets will benefit the city's Department of Parks, Recreation, and Events.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The Washington Capitals will be honoring the City of Fredericksburg at its Jan. 5, 2020 home game against the San Jose Sharks. The game will feature the first ever "Fredericksburg Spirit Day," which will include a special ticket offer that includes a Capitals t-shirt that can be picked up outside Section 409 or 424 from an hour before puck drop until the end of the game’s second intermission.

A portion of all ticket proceeds will go toward Fredericksburg's Department of Parks, Recreation, and Events. A limited number of tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are expected to go quickly at this almost sold out game.

Caps fans who live in the Fredericksburg area can ride together to the game at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. on buses sponsored by Exterior Medics. The buses will leave at 10 a.m. on Jan. 5 from the Dorothy Hart Community Center in Fredericksburg. The buses are expected to return to Fredericksburg by 7 p.m. Seats on the bus cost $10 per person and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The City of Fredericksburg has developed strong ties with the Capitals. A new outdoor roller hockey rink at Dixon Park, built as a partnership between the Capitals and the city, includes a floor surface featuring the Capitals logo. The rink also features a scoreboard with the Capitals logo. Corporate sponsors also contributed to the building of the new outdoor rink.
