Easter Weekend Forecast in Fredericksburg

There's rain between now and then, but will the skies clear for spring's first full weekend? Here's the easter weekend forecast.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — We were talking about snowflakes a week ago?! Not this weekend.

Easter is coming early this year and bringing spring weather with it. That means some rain to start out the weekend, before turning sunny and reaching into the sixties.

Easter is March 27, 2016.

Rain showers are in the forecast for Thursday, and we'll start the day wet on Friday, but the skies will clear and we're looking at sunny skies Saturday and Sunday. The chance for showers returns Sunday night.

Early morning temperatures on Easter Sunday will be in the mid-40s. A heavy winter coat won't be necessary says Accuweather Meteorologist Dan Pydynowski, but a spring jacket may be needed.

"Much of the mid-Atlantic and Northeast will be dry on Easter Sunday and sunrise services should not be all that cold," he said.

Here's the latest regional forecast from the National Weather Service:

Friday: Showers, mainly before 8am. Patchy fog before 2pm. High near 70. West wind 10 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 60.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 41.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65.

Sunday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
