FredNats Ballpark Renamed Virginia Credit Union Stadium

The Fredericksburg Nationals announced that their ballpark would be renamed Virginia Credit Union Stadium through a new partnership.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The Fredericksburg Nationals ballpark has a new name: Virginia Credit Union Stadium. The team announced the change at an event for season ticket holders on Saturday.

Fredericksburg Nationals officials said they would install new signage in the stadium before opening day on April 12.

Virginia Credit Union is based in Richmond, but they operate two branches in Fredericksburg. One branch is located at 2150 Gordon W. Shelton Boulevard, while the other is at 4531 Spotsylvania Parkway.

Chris Shockley is the president and CEO of the credit union. "We see our partnership with the Fredericksburg Nationals at Virginia Credit Union Stadium as a vital way to reach prospective members, offer exciting benefits to existing members, and make a long-term commitment to this community," Shockley said.

The credit union's partnership with the Fredericksburg Nationals also includes several features for members of the credit union. Members can receive discounts on single game tickets and to the team store, as well as early access to concerts and other special events.

"There really is something for everyone," Shockley said. "We look forward to offering our Fredericksburg-area members these benefits right in their backyard."

The Fredericksburg Nationals and Virginia Credit Union also announced their "Strike-Out-Hunger" initiative. This season, the team and the credit union will make a financial donation to the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank for every strikeout thrown.

"With Strike-Out-Hunger, we will work with the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank to combat food insecurity in this region," Shockley said. "Our financial contributions will support the food bank in its vital work while raising awareness of the agency and ways to support them."
