FredNats Release Game Times For 1st Season in Fredericksburg

The FredNats stadium will open one hour before first pitch, giving fans time to get their peanuts and Cracker Jack and find their seats.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The Fredericksburg Nationals, an affiliate of the World Series champions Washington Nationals, on Monday released the game times for its inaugural season. The team's first home game at its new stadium in Fredericksburg will take place April 23 against the Frederick Keys, an affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles.

Gates to the new stadium — still unnamed — will open one hour prior to first pitch, giving fans early entry time to get their peanuts and Cracker Jack and then find their seats. Home games held Monday through Friday will begin at 7:05 p.m., with the exception of three games set to begin at 11:05 a.m.: May 13 for an education day, June 17 for a camp day and August 31.

FredNats Saturday games will start at 6:35 p.m. with the exception of the first Saturday in Opening Weekend on April 25, which will begin at 1:05 p.m.

The following Sunday games will start at 1:35 p.m.: April 26, May 24, May 31, June 21, Aug. 9 and August 16. The remaining Sunday games on May 3, July 5, July 26, Aug. 30 and Sept. 6 will begin at 6:35 p.m. The full 2020 game schedule is now available on the FredNats website.

Fredericksburg's city council voted to approve a deal in November 2018 to bring the Potomac Nationals Class A baseball franchise in Woodbridge to the city in time for the 2020 season. Construction crews are working fast to make sure the new 5,000-seat stadium at Celebrate Virginia near Central Park on Interstate 95 is ready for the April 23 home opener.

On Saturday, the team is holding tryouts at the University of Mary Washington for emcees, public address announcers, team mascots and national anthem performers at FredNats home games.
