Temperatures expected to drop as the week begins, according to the National Weather Service. Here's the latest forecast.

A freeze watch is in effect for the region from late Monday until Tuesday morning.

Also, a frost advisory will be in effect from midnight Sunday night until 8 a.m. Monday for areas in and around Prince William and Loudoun counties.

Here's the latest regional forecast from the National Weather Service:

Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 34. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south in the evening.

Monday: Showers, mainly after 2pm. High near 68. Southwest wind 14 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Monday Night: Showers, mainly before 8pm. Low around 31. North wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 46. North wind 11 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 27. North wind 6 to 8 mph becoming southeast after midnight.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 57.

Wednesday Night: Showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
