FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The City of Fredericksburg has postponed the grand opening of the city's new roller hockey rink due to Sunday's forecast, which calls for a 90 percent chance of rain throughout the day. The grand opening of the rink in Dixon Park is rescheduled for Nov. 10 at 1 p.m.

The new rink is the only outdoor, inline roller hockey rink within a 40-mile radius of the city, according to the Free Lance-Star. The rink was built through a partnership between the Capitals and the city, and was also supported through the new Fredanthropist program and the Fredericksburg Youth Roller Hockey organization.

The rink at 1300 Dixon St. includes a custom board system and a NOVA Play II flooring surface featuring the Capitals logo. The rink also features a Daktronics scoreboard with the Capitals logo.
