Snow, Freeze Forecast Latest: Northern Virginia Weather

Portions of the area under freeze warning Friday night, with a snow/rain mix still forecasted overnight and early Saturday.

Snow is still in the forecast for Friday night and Saturday morning, and may even provide enough to cover the ground in some areas.

A freeze warning will be in effect overnight for portions of the Northern Virginia region. The entire area will be under a freeze watch Saturday night.

Friday night, there's a chance of rain and snow showers between midnight and 3 a.m., turning to snow showers. New snow accumulation will be less than a half inch for most of the area.

On Saturday, there's a chance of snow showers before 1 p.m., before shifting to rain showers as the high gets near 46 degrees. New snow accumulation should be less than a half inch.

The freeze warning is for Loudoun and Prince William counties in Northern Virginia and runs from midnight Friday night until 9 a.m. Saturday morning. Temperatures will be around 30 degrees.

Across the region, temperatures are expected to drop into the 20s on Saturday night, with a freeze watch in effect from Saturday evening into Sunday morning. Unprotected plants and crops will likely be damaged.
