Virginia Tech Fan Guide To Belk Bowl: Tickets, Travel And Events

Here's your guide for celebrating and watching Virginia Tech's 2019 appearance in the Belk Bowl.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Virginia Tech and the University of Kentucky will square off in the 2019 Belk Bowl Dec. 31 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.

The Belk Bowl is the only college bowl game in the Carolinas. The is the 27th straight bowl appearance for Virginia Tech (8-4), which wrapped up the season ranked second in the ACC Coastal Division. The game marks the first Belk Bowl appearance for Kentucky (7-5).

Belk Bowl student tickets are $55 and are available while supplies last. Virgnia Tech students will be required to pick-up their tickets in Blacksburg at the Lane Stadium Ticket by Dec. 18. For the general public, tickets can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.

Fans should book their travel packages through Martin Travel, the official travel partner for Virginia Tech fans. Rooms are being offered at the team hotel, The Westin Charlotte, which is walking distance from the stadium. At this time rooms are sold out. Parking

To reserve your parking spot for the Belk Bowl, visit the Bank of America Stadium SpotHero Parking Page. There are more than 30,000 parking spaces located within five blocks of Bank of America Stadium that will be available on game day.

TV Coverage
The Belk Bowl will be broadcast on ESPN at noon on Dec. 31.

Events in Charlotte

  • The Belk Bowl Fan Fest will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Dec. 31. Free and open to the public, the fan fest features live music, food, games and fun for the whole family. Located outside Bank of America Stadium, the Belk Bowl FanFest schedule is: 9 a.m., FanFest opens to the public; 9:30 a.m., FanFest Stage music performance; 10 a.m., PurrCussion, Black & Blue Crew, and Belkie perform; 10:30 a.m., Belk Bowl Gates Open; 11:30 a.m., FanFest Stage music performance; 11:45 a.m., food and beverage sales stop; and noon, FanFest closes.
  • The official Virginia Tech tailgate before the Belk Bowl takes place form 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at BB&T Ballpark at 324 S. Mint Street, only two blocks from the football stadium. The tailgate includes a buffet with fruit, breakfast burritos, hash browns, bacon, waffles, vegetarian options, chicken tenders, and more. Unlimited beer, wine, and soda are also included and a cash bar with liquor will be available. The tailgate location is under a covered concourse.
  • The official fan party of the Belk Bowl will take place the night before the game on Dec. 30 the EpiCentre, an entertainment complex with dozens of restaurants and bars located 210 E Trade Street.
  • The Charlotte Hokies are holding a celebration on Dec. 30 at the Graham St. Pub and Patio, 400 South Graham Street. The time has yet to be determined.
