Meet Adoptable Pet Rosie, Attend Fun Dog Show In Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Pets at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria's animal shelter are hoping to have some Irish luck and find forever homes this March.

Patch regularly features adoptable pets at the animal shelter. This week's featured pet is Rosie, a black cat who would never make you feel unlucky. This sociable kitty loves meeting people, getting pets and playing with toys.

Here's more information on Rosie:

Rosie is a 5-year-old beautiful black kitty with silky long fur, a big fluffy tail, and sparkling green eyes. She's sociable, sweet, and friendly. She adores visitors and has been described as a lovely hostess. Rosie enjoys being pet, brushed, and just smothered with affection. Some of her favorite activities - outside of being the center of attention - are playing with pipe cleaners (those are the bee's knees) and snacking on kitty squeeze treats.

Make plans to join us, the Ballyshaners, and McEnearney Associates at the Fun Dog Show 2023, taking place on March 4 at 11 a.m. leading into the Old Town St. Patrick's Day Parade!

Spirited pups are invited to don their favorite costumes on stage at the corner of King and S. Royal St.* Register your dog to be a contestant in any or all of the below costume categories:

• Most St. Paddy's Spirit
• Best Human/Canine Combo Costume
• Most Creative

Advance registration is $25 per entrant per category, and all proceeds benefit the AWLA. Onsite registration is $30. Contestants should arrive at 10:45 a.m.
