2024 Reston Multicultural Festival: RCC Seeks Performers, Artists

RESTON, VA — Reston Community Center is inviting artists and performing groups of all ages and cultures to submit an application to perform at the 2024 Reston Multicultural Festival.

For more than 22 years, the multicultural festival has celebrated Reston as a diverse, multicultural and multigenerational community. This year's festival takes place Saturday, Sept. 21, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., in Reston Town Center.

RCC has expanded its entertainment space to three stages this year, increasing the number of artists and performers needed for the event. In order to maximize the number of applications it considers, RCC will be selecting performers based on submitted materials rather than auditions. Special consideration will be given to Reston-based groups.

"All applications should include audio/video examples of the group’s work," RCC said in a release. "Submissions will be reviewed by an entertainment committee. Evaluation criteria includes artistic merit, production values, evidence of authentic traditions and forms of specific cultures, and general merit of the performance. Performance styles can be specific to a particular religious orientation but should not be used to proselytize or overtly promote any faith or religion."

The deadline for all performers, artisans, arts and crafts vendors, and community organizations to submit an application for this year's multicultural festival is Friday, June. 14. All application forms can be found on the festival's page on the RCC website.

RCC will notify artists selected to perform at the 2024 Reston Multicultural Festival by Aug. 2.
