Bike To Work Day To Include Reston, Herndon Pit Stops

RESTON, VA — Bicyclists around Fairfax County will have an extra incentive to ditch the bike and commute in the fresh air during the next Bike to Work Day.

The annual Bike to Work Day will be held by the Commuter Connections and the Washington Area Bicyclist Association on Friday, May 17. More than 100 locations around DC and the Virginia and Maryland suburbs will offer pit stops with freebies.

Bicyclists can register for Bike to Work Day to receive free giveaways, food and beverages at their chosen pit stop. Freebies will be available while supplies last.

The first 16,000 registered participants throughout the DC region will get a free T-shirt. All participants will be entered into a raffle for a new bicycle. Participants need to preregister for the event at www.biketoworkmetrodc.org to reserve their T-shirt and be eligible for raffle prizes.

Other pit stops around the region are in Washington, DC, City of Alexandria, Arlington County, Loudoun County, Prince William County and the Maryland counties of Charles, Frederick, Montgomery and Prince George's
