RESTON, VA — Diamond jewelry is the traditional gift to commemorate a 60th anniversary. However, the Reston Association is opting to mark its 60th year with something much more fun and likely lot less expensive — a community pool party and cookout.

The celebration will take place at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, at Lake Newport Pool and Recreation Area. The event is free and open to all RA members and recreation passholders. Admission for non-members/non-passholders is $20 for children and $30 for adults.

“We are so excited to bring this new event to our community and have everyone come together to celebrate,” said Mac Cummins, CEO of Reston Association. “Restonians have often told us that our poolsare some of the amenities they value the most, and so we thought it only fitting to mark this anniversary with a big community pool party.”
